Meet Our Personal Trainers

Peter Rappoli, M.S., CCS, CSCS
Co-Owner / Senior Director of Personal Training

Peter is a co-owner of Elite Health & Fitness Center and cofounder of the nationally recognized Elite Sports Fitness Boot Camp program. Peter has worked with several of Boston’s most legendary athletes including American League MVP, Mo Vaughn, and Olympic Gold Medalist, Jim Craig. He has also worked with major League Baseball All-Stars including a Boston Red Sox MVP. In addition to working closely with the training staff of both the Boston Red Sox and the Anaheim Angels, Peter was the strength and conditioning coach for the Mo Vaughn, Trot Nixon, Nomar Garciaparra and Jason Varitek Baseball Camps, as well as, Jim Craig’s Gold Medal Hockey School. He is currently the strength and conditioning coach for Dustin Pedroia’s Baseball Camp. Peter has worked as the strength and conditioning coach for Bryant University, Stonehill College and Suffolk University.Peter has over 20 years experience as a full-time personal trainer and holds a Master’s degree in nutrition from Huntington College of Health Sciences. He also has an Associate’s degree in Healthcare Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Health & Fitness. In addition, he holds a Career Diploma in both nutrition and fitness from Ashworth College. At Ashworth College he was awarded the DETC (Distance Education Training Council) Outstanding Graduate of the year award. Peter is certified as a personal trainer through ACSM, NCSF, AFAA, FRA, NCCPT and IFA. He is board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA and NSPA and a certified TRX instructor. He is a member of the NSCA and on the advisory board for the National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA).


Jay Baker, CPT, CF1
Training Manager/Certified Personal Trainer, Level II

Jay has a diploma in personal training through the National Personal Training Institute. He enjoys the hands-on program design and instruction of Boot Camps and weight loss programs, as well as sports and strength and conditioning programs. He is also TRX certified. Jay and his family have been active members of Elite Health and Fitness Center for over five years. When asked about his approach to fitness, Jay said,”I enjoy working with others, helping them achieve great results and staying motivated along the way!”


Terrence Allen, CPT

Terrence is a nationally certified personal trainer through ACE. He started “working out” when he was fifteen years old and has not stopped since. Terrence has played baseball and softball since he was eight years old and enjoys strength and conditioning, muscle building, and functional and “core” exercises. He has been an active part of the Elite Fitness Boot Camp, Stretch and Core, Strength and Conditioning Program, Elite Fit Kidz, and Senior Circuit Programs.Terrence enjoys working with all ages and abilities. Terrence’s enthusiasm for helping others and positivity make him a great addition to the Elite team.


Sean Byron, CPT

Sean received his Bachelor of Science from Bridgewater State University in Exercise Science and Health Fitness. While attending school, Sean worked at Elite in several different departments including Member Services, KidZone and Elite Sports Performance Strength and Conditioning. During his final year of school, Sean worked as an aide in the Elite Sports & Physical Therapy Clinic. While working in physical therapy, Sean acquired a wealth of knowledge from Mastered Physical Therapists and obtained an abundance of hands-on training with patients in the clinic. Sean is currently involved in Elite’s Fitness Boot Camp, Sports Performance Strength and Conditioning, as well as various group exercise classes. He is also a certified TRX instructor. Sean’s eagerness to gain knowledge and continue his education demonstrates his passion for the field and is the key to him helping others each day.


Rachel MacDonald, CPT

Rachel holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Boston. After a weight loss struggle of her own, Rachel sought out help from a personal trainer. When she finally reached her goal, she was inspired to join the fitness industry. Rachel began personal training at Rodman Health and Fitness in 2005.Rachel joined the Elite Team in the spring of 2007 and has been a personal trainer and instructor for the Elite Biggest Loser Program ever since. Rachel works well with people of all ages and fitness levels.


Carolina Pokraka, CPT
Certified Personal Trainer, Level I

Carolina earned her Bachelor’s degree from UMASS Boston. She has always been a very active person and enjoys running races and hiking in addition to her exercise regimen of Zumba, Ripped and weight training. She has trekked to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa in 2001. She also completed her first half marathon in 2013. Carolina received her Group Exercise certification through AFAA; followed by her Personal Trainer Certification with NSPA under the supervision of Pete Rappoli. She continues learning every day and her greatest satisfaction is helping people safely achieve their fitness goals while having fun. Carolina has lead her team to win the last two Weight Loss Challenges here at Elite. She is a bilingual trainer, speaking both English and Spanish.


Ken Prince, CPT

Ken joined our team here at Elite as a Member Service Representative. It was at this position where he learned the value of teamwork and what it means to be a team player. After serving in his position for more than a year, Ken decided that he would be a more valued asset by joining the ranks of some of our most promising trainers. He obtained his certification from the National Council of Strength and Fitness, and has been going strong ever since.Ken has an overwhelming desire to see individuals maximize their potential, surpass their goals, and become better in all aspects of life.and fitness makes him an asset to the Elite team.


Bernadette Richards, CPT

After earning a BSBA from Boston University, Bernadette worked for ten years as a CPA. Five children later, she had become a stay at home Mom. This was when Bernadette joined Elite as a gym member in January of 2003 and started weight training for the first time. In March 2005, she took it to the next level and joined the Elite Staff as both a personal trainer and a spinning instructor, having earned personal training certifications from FRA and NSPA, as well as a spinning certification through Mad Dogg Athletics.Bermadette now enjoys instructing the Elite Fitness Boot Camp (of which she was once a participant) as well as assisting her clients to achieve and maintain their fitness goals. This coupled with the enthusiasm and support that she supplies has proved invaluable on their journeys to success. She currently works with men and women of all ages and fitness levels.


Robert Russo, CPT

Robert has a diploma in personal training through the National Personal Training Institute. He believes his personal history with exercise, weight training and program development drive him to motivate and educate others. Bob instructs our new lower intensity group exercise class: Easy Fit. He is also TRX certified and truly enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities.When asked about his approach to fitness, he replied, “Motivate with passion and train with compassion – two valuable tools to help clients attain their goals.”


Maureen Toscano, CPT

Maureen has been with Elite Health and Fitness as a Babysitting Manager and avid fitness enthusiast for many years. Her passion lead Maureen to becoming a certified personal trainer through the National Strength Professionals Association. She is also a trained Les Mills BODYPUMP instructor. You can find Maureen at Elite at 5:00am getting her workout in before starting her workday and attending to a family of seven. Maureen is an inspiration to give you the drive you are looking for.


Keith Weiner, CSCS

Keith broke into the fitness industry in 2009 and has not looked back ever since. Keith is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the NSCA to which he is also a member. He is also a nationally certified personal trainer through ACE. Keith is currently studying for his Masters degree in exercise science and health promotion with a concentration in performance enhancement and injury prevention from the California University of Pennsylvania. Through out the years Keith has demonstrated a passion for the fitness industry and through continuing education, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to help people realize their true potential, he continues to achieve great results with men and women of all ages and fitness levels.


Pamela Borden, CPT

Pam has always been interested in the health & fitness field. She got her start working as an E.M.T. on an ambulance. In that time, she witnessed a staggering amount of healthy people suffering through debilitating joint, weight & mobility issues. This is what helped ignite her passion to help these people in better ways than just prescription medications. She is the proud mother of a 21yr old son, and this provided her the profound patience to work with and encourage people of all ages. Pamela studied & received her Personal Trainers Certification under the guidance of Peter Rappoli & has been at Elite Health & Fitness since 2013.


Lee Cummings, CPT

Lee has recently joined Elite Health and Fitness as a Personal Trainer, after a summer internship in 2013. Lee is currently a senior at Bridgewater State University and will be receiving his BS degree in Exercise Science in May. Lee has played basketball at Massasoit Community college and coached for the BPE Heat AAU team.


Matt Malcuit , B.S. Exercise Science

Matt recently joined Elite Health and Fitness as a Personal Trainer. Matt has been involved with baseball his whole life. He went on to pitch for Franklin Pierce University and competed in the 2010 DII World Series. After discovering his passion for exercise science, Matt transferred to Bridgewater State University earning his BS degree in Exercise Science in May of 2014. While in school he worked with a variety of different athletes finding his niche in sports specific training. He is currently working towards earning his CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.


Alyssa Mazzella , B.S. Exercise Science

Alyssa has started working at Elite Health and Fitness in 2014. Alyssa has been a personal training for 7 years, receiving her certification from ACSM. Alyssa also achieved her Bachelors degree from UNH in Kinesiology: Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition in 2011 and has been working on achieving her Masters. Alyssa specializes in High Load and Low Load blood flow restriction exercise in the elderly population . Alyssa has a passion for knowledge and educating others. She also takes pride in preparing home cooked meals. Alyssa enjoys the outdoors, be it hiking, camping, or running. Alyssa is extremely passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals and getting them in the best of their lives.
